Building Upon a Legacy

Embracing Change Through Renovation

We are excited to announce that our location at 2300 Texas Avenue, our home base for 54 years, is set for a transformative journey. Our Motor Annex (drive-thru) building will undergo a complete renovation to provide an enhanced full-service lobby and drive-thru experience. Once the renovations are complete, we will permanently close the main building.

Drive-Thru Closure

As we embark on this construction adventure, the drive-thru will be temporarily closed from December 16, 2024, to mid-July 2025. We recognize this may present some challenges, so to ease this transition we plan to extend our lobby hours during construction for teller transactions.

Temporary Lobby Teller Operations Hours:

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  |  Monday – Friday
  • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  |  Saturday

Other lobby services will continue to be offered from:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  |  Monday – Friday

Additionally, we will also introduce a new Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) alongside our current ATM, both designed to accept cash and check deposits. For those who are unable to conduct business in our lobby, limited curbside services will be available.

We encourage all members to embrace our convenient services, such as enrolling in direct deposit and using our free mobile app to deposit checks electronically. Our Texas City lobby staff is here to assist you in setting these up, and you’re also welcome to visit our other convenient locations that can take care of all your financial needs.

Thank you for your understanding and unwavering support during this renovation. AMOCO is committed to keeping you updated on our progress and any service interruptions via our website.

What You Can Expect from the Renovated Space and Its Exciting New Offerings

The newly renovated 4,375 square-foot building will be located near the corner of 24th Street and 1st Avenue North. The branch will offer a fully staffed lobby, in-branch video banking kiosks, safe deposit boxes, transaction pods, and a waiting area with a hospitality bar. The drive-thru will offer five traditional drive-thru lanes and two Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) lanes, that not only offer a virtual in-lobby experience but also operate as ATM.

Questions and Answers

Texas City is the foundation of our existence and has been our home for many years. While the main building and motor annex have largely remained unchanged, we saw an opportunity to enhance the experience for our members and employees, to align more closely with that of our other branches. The motor annex provided the perfect structure for this update. More importantly, we want to reassure our loyal members that we are committed to staying in Texas City by investing in a community that has supported us through the years.

Although we plan to permanently close the main building for credit union business, we have not yet determined its future.

The last day for drive-thru services at our Texas City branch will be Saturday, December 14, 2024.

During construction, our lobby hours for teller transactions will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Other lobby services, including new account openings and loan assistance, will continue to be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Yes, once we complete construction, the Texas City branch will offer full service on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Yes, our new branch will have a limited number of safe deposit boxes. However, priority for these rentals will be given to members who currently rent a safe deposit box at the Texas City branch. Any remaining boxes will be available for rent.

No, the credit union will not physically relocate the existing safe deposit boxes to the new branch. Safe deposit box holders will need to visit the branch to close out their existing box and open a new one at the renovated branch. However, this cannot be done until construction is complete. More details about this process will be communicated to current safe deposit box holders as we get closer to the opening of the new branch.

The estimated time for construction is approximately 24 weeks, beginning on January 6, 2025. The timeline does not include the preconstruction period scheduled to begin on December 16. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Although construction is estimated to be complete by the end of June, there are many aspects, aside from construction, that must be addressed. As a result, we are likely to open the new branch in early to mid-July 2025.
