AMOCO FCU Announces Second Co-Sponsorship with $25,000 Donation to Bay Area Habitat for Humanity

From Financing Homes to Building with Heart: AMOCO FCU Marks Second Co-Sponsorship with $25,000 Donation

Texas City, Texas, April 8, 2026 – AMOCO Federal Credit Union announced its second co-sponsorship with Bay Area Habitat for Humanity, reinforcing the credit union’s commitment to affordable homeownership and community impact. On March 30, AMOCO donated $25,000 to Bay Area Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit home builder dedicated to helping families in need achieve safe, stable housing.

“AMOCO is honored to co-sponsor this build and continue our partnership with Bay Area Habitat for Humanity,” said Ashley Carner, President of AMOCO Federal Credit Union. “At our core, we believe strong communities are built through people, through showing up, working together, and caring for one another. This project allows us to bring our hearts and our hands together to help make the dream of homeownership a reality for a deserving family.”

This sponsorship will support the construction of a new Habitat home in Dickinson, Texas, and is a collaborative effort alongside the Moody Foundation and local Methodist churches. Groundbreaking for the home is expected to take place in June 2026.

“What makes this sponsorship especially meaningful is the role our Real Estate and Mortgage Team will play throughout the build,” said Eddie Bonilla, Chief Lending Officer of AMOCO Federal Credit Union. “They spend their days guiding members through the home financing process, and now they will be onsite, trading paperwork for hard hats and gloves, to help physically build a home. It is a powerful way to turn the work they do every day into something tangible that will make a lasting difference for a family.”

This hands on involvement reflects the full circle of AMOCO’s mission. The team that works each day to finance the dream of homeownership will now help build that dream, bringing expertise, dedication, and heart directly to the construction site. Together with community partners, their efforts will culminate in a completed home for a deserving homeowner.
