When she was just seven years old, Kadie's parents opened her first account with AMOCO. Depositing her Easter money and eating lollipops are just a few of the many memorable highlights she has from her childhood at the credit union. "Everyone was always so nice when I walked in, and they would all call me by name." Kadie's entire family including her mom, dad and three siblings, are all proud members of AMOCO. According to Kadie, "AMOCO always puts you in a good mood."
As a young adult, Kadie wanted to learn more about establishing her credit and planning for her future. She turned to AMOCO for help. "JR Ayala [Financial Service Representative] suggested I start with a credit card. At first I was a little nervous, but he explained everything to me and helped reduce my financial stress." Experiences like this really make Kadie appreciate the outstanding service she receives when she walks through the doors of AMOCO.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck Kadie's life at the age of 18 when she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. It was a very difficult time for her physically and financially. Her health complications brought her job and school to a standstill. To add to her stress, Kadie's car broke down. Her parents have always financed their loans with AMOCO, so it was a no-brainer that she would too. To Kadie, this was a defining moment in her relationship with AMOCO. "I felt comfortable through the entire loan process. That was something I really appreciated because it is hard when you have the rug pulled out from underneath you; you don't really know what to do. But now I feel safe and secure."
Although Kadie has faced several obstacles in her life, she has not let it slow her down. She is now a graduate of College of the Mainland with an Associate Degree and just received notification that she was accepted into the University of Texas Dental Branch where she will start the Bachelor program for dental hygiene. For the last two years she has worked for Pappas Seafood House. In her free time Kadie enjoys painting, exercising and spending quality time with her family and friends. She also plans to get more involved with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation so she can help educate others about the disease. In February of 2012, Kadie received AMAZING news - her Crohn's disease is in remission! Kadie and her family reside in Dickinson.
