Advance Child Tax Credit

Have questions about the Advance Child Tax Credit? The IRS has added information on irs.gov.  Please visit the site as your first resource for questions. 

The IRS has launched a “Manage Payments” link so you can check your payment status and unenroll in the advance payments.

Here’s What To Know:

 

The Advance Child Tax Credit will begin Thursday,  July 15, 2021. 

They will continue through December on the following dates:

  • Friday, August 13
  • Wednesday, September 15
  • Friday, October 15
  • Monday, November 15
  • Wednesday, December 15

It’s too late to opt out of the July 15 payment, but you can still unenroll from the remaining monthly payments, here

How to check if the child tax credit has been posted to your AMOCO account:

We intend to post the advance child tax credit as soon as we receive them. There are many ways to check if the child tax credit has been posted to your AMOCO account. Please be advised that longer wait times should be expected for most credit union services. 

Video Banking

No appointment or branch visit necessary. With Video Banking, you can virtually meet an AMOCO representative to see if the child tax credit has been posted. Please use a Chrome web browser or download our Video Banking Mobile App (Apple | Google). Make sure you enable your camera and microphone. For Video Banking hours and more information, click here.

C.U.A.R.T. – Credit Union Audio Response Teller

When you can’t connect to AMOCO by internet or mobile device you can access your account with our Phone Banking service. When you call 409.948.4017 or 800.327.2051 you can check if the child tax credit has been posted.

Online and Mobile Banking

Use our Online Banking and Mobile App to check if your child tax credit has been posted to your AMOCO account. 

Please be advised that a surge in Online and Mobile Banking logins could cause delays and potential service interruptions. We recommend that members encountering issues wait 20-30 minutes before attempting their login/transaction again.

  1. Download the AMOCO App.
  2. Click ‘Sign up now’.
  3. Enter your birth date, SSN/Tax ID, and your member number that was provided to you upon account opening.
  4. Complete the prompts to confirm your information.
Once you’re setup with the Mobile App, you can click on the account that you will expect your deposit to post. When you click on the account, a list of transactions and details will appear. This is where you will be able to view when the check has posted.
 
If you didn’t receive a Stimulus Check via direct deposit during the first round of payments or are still waiting on a stimulus check, please visit irs.gov
  1. To register for Online Banking, please click ‘Access My Account.’
  2. Click ‘Register here.’
  3. Enter your birth date, SSN/TaxID, and your member number that was provided to you when you open an account.
  4. Complete the prompts to confirm your information.

Once you’re setup with Online Banking, you can click on the account that you will expect your deposit to post. When you click on the account, a list of transactions and details will appear. This is where you will be able to view when the check has posted.

Mobile App Alert Setup:

  1. Login to the Mobile App
  2. Select ‘More’ from the menu bar located at the bottom of your screen
  3. Select ‘Others’
  4. Select ‘Settings’
  5. Select ‘Notifications’
  6. Select ‘Automatic Deposit Alert’
  7. Next to ‘Delivery Methods’ select ‘Change’
  8. Select the email or phone number connected to your account that you would like for the notification to go to.
  9. Click ‘Save’ in the top right corner

Online Banking Alert Setup:

  1. Login to Online Banking
  2. Select ‘More’ from the menu bar located at the left side of your screen
  3. Select ‘Settings’
  4. Select the ‘Notifications’ tab
  5. Select ‘Automatic Deposit Alert’
  6. Choose the Account you want to set your alert for
  7. Choose a delivery method
  8. Click ‘Save Changes’
