Bob F. Steel dedicated over 36 years of his life to AMOCO Federal Credit Union. Mr. Steel served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 8 years. His journey with AMOCO began shortly after he was hired at Amoco Oil Refinery.
In 1981, Mr. Steel he became a volunteer for AMOCO’s Supervisory Committee. This experience sparked his passion to further his credit union commitment by joining the Board of Directors in 1987. Mr. Steel continued to be an active member of the Board of Directors for the next 35 years and served as Chairman of the Board from 1991-92 and 2007-09.
Mr. Steel was an essential asset to the credit union, especially to the Board of Directors. His peers respected his advice and wisdom, both personally and professionally. His love and dedication for AMOCO helped shape the internal culture we embody today. He made every employee feel like an extended member of his family. Mr. Steel’s commitment didn’t stop with employees. In fact, one of his biggest passions was making sure our membership was well served. Every decision he made was fueled by his belief that our members come first. To further his legacy, in February 2018 AMOCO is dedicating their Tuscan Lakes Branch to Bob Steel.
